POL 370 CONSTITUTIONAL LAW This seminar addresses U.S. constitutional history and controversies surrounding constitutional interpretation from the 18th century to the present day. In addition to tracing the developmental trajectory of legal questions with respect to due process and equal protection, this course also examines the dynamics of decision-making authority among as well as across federal and state level institutions. We will also examine more contemporary legal issues concerning race, gender, civil rights, abortion, and sexual orientation.
