MGT 371 THE NON-MARKET ENVIRONMENTOF BUSINESSThis course addresses managerial issues in the social,political and legal environments of business. Casesand readings emphasize strategies to improve theperformance of companies in light of their multipleconstituencies, in both US and international environments.Topics include integrated strategy, activists andthe media, legislation affecting business, business andpolitics, environmental policy, consumerism, andinternational trade policy. Most courses focus on firms?interactions with customers, suppliers, and alliancepartners in the form of mutually beneficial exchangetransacted in markets. In contrast, this course considersthe strategic interactions of firms with their variousconstituents outside of markets.
