Description
MCM 301 S Special Topics: Digital News Production - This class will instruct and support students in the production of digital news, which will be published online in the Menlo Oak Press. Under the direct guidance of the class instructors, students will be responsible for publishing at least three news stories per semester, which may take the form of a short video, podcast, or written article. Although this will be a production-focused class, students will also be required to engage in weekly readings and discussions around the history of news media production, current events, and journalistic conventions. Along the way, students will be asked to reflect on ongoing conversations regarding inclusivity, diversity, and bias in the media.
