FIN 447 Financial Analysis, Valuation & Appraisal - This is a special topics course that will offer students an opportunity of in-depth exploration and application of valuation models to support investment and managerial decisions. The theory, concepts, and principles underlying the valuation of different types of firms are addressed using extended exercises and applications. The discounted cash flow model is used as a major tool. Other valuation techniques using valuation multiples and real options are also discussed and applied in selected examples. Students will have an opportunity to apply their knowledge in valuing a real company and preparing valuation report and presentation at the end of the course.
