PSY 383 CULTURAL ISSUES IN PSYCHOLOGY This course will survey the growing field of cultural psychology and examine the emerging trend to incorporate the role of cultural variables throughout psychological theory and practice. The survey will begin by considering the historical evolution of psychology as the product of primarily American and Western European ways of thinking about science and the nature of the human mind. Throughout the survey, emphasis will be placed on achieving and appreciating a multicultural perspective on a variety of psychological theories and issues. Course material will be presented through the use of lecture, class and online discussion, and experiential exercises. Prerequisite: PSY 101
