Description

MTH 102 COLLEGE ALGEBRA College Algebra provides an introduction to the important world of mathematical functions and their applications. Functions describe quantitative change and are found in many fields of study, such as business, economics, and social studies. The following topics will be covered in the course: definition of a function; the domain and range; linear, exponential and logarithmic, quadratic, polynomial, and rational functions and their graphs; operations on, transformations and applications of these functions; composition of functions and inverse functions; introduction to sequences and series. This course should prove useful in most courses in economics, finance, production, and statistics/quantitative analysis. Prerequisite: Placement exam, or MTH 101 (at least C-), or MTH 100 (at least C-)
