IMG 307 S Special Topics: Business and Global Poverty Alleviation - Many business efforts have emerged to address unmet human needs through for-profit and not-for-profit provision of goods and services. The course will address critical questions, including:
• What are the key factors that inhibit efforts to address unmet needs?
• What strategies, concepts and tools will help address unmet needs effectively?
• How should we evaluate the effectiveness of these efforts?
The course addresses these problems by examining business model from around the world. Students will evaluate cases to determine what worked, what didn’t, and how the business models might be improved to make the efforts more effective and more scalable.
